Lyric coloratura soprano ABIGAIL RAIFORD has been praised in the Tulsa World for her “powerful, luxurious soprano voice, as well as her wonderfully comic way of weeping as the woebegone Elvira” in Tulsa Opera's production of Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri. Algeri. This season sees her return to Teatro Nuovo to sing Lisa in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, originating the role of Peristeri in White Snake Projects’ newly commissioned opera White Raven, Black Dove, singing Julie Jordan in the Will Rogers Stage Foundation’s production of Carousel, and performing as The Farmer in The Seasons with Opera Philadelphia, where she will also be a 2025-2026 Emerging Artist. Most recently on the competition stage, she was a National Finalist in the 2025 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, received 4th Prize from the Giulio Gari Foundation, won 2nd Place in the Jensen Foundation Competition, won both 1st Place and Audience Favorite in the D’Angelo Young Artist Vocal Competition with Opera Tampa, received the Opera Index Award from the Opera Index Vocal Competition, and won 1st Place in the Camille Coloratura Awards. She recently made debuts at two of New York City’s premiere concert halls, singing the soprano solo in Fauré’s Requiem in Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall, and performing as the soprano soloist in Taylor Scott Davis’ Magnificat at Carnegie Hall, both with Manhattan Concert Productions.
